State Battle

State Battle is an individual event that occasionally appears in Keynotathlons.

This event was uniquely made for Keynotathlons, and does not have a prior Algothon equivalent.

Rules

Every contestant will choose a set number of states in the United States of America. The states will then be ranked based on different categories, such as:

• When they were admitted to the Union
• Their total population
• How large the states are
• How long their life expectancies are
• Their GDP per capita

The states will then be given rank points depending on their rank in the category among all states. After every category is announced, the contestant with the lowest rank point total (or the lowest total rank between all of their chosen states) will win the event.

The event works best in the following scenarios, where each color has their own unique state(s) and no overlap occurs:
